The Flyers are holding a practice at Wells Fargo Center today in lieu of their usual skate at SkateZone in Voorhees, NJ due to the team’s scheduled team photo. While updates on forward Oskar Lindblom’s battle against cancer have been few and far between, this was about as big of an update as anyone could’ve hoped for. After having been held away from the team and general public for fear of exposure to illness, Lindblom joined his teammates for the annual team photo:

I can’t begin to tell you how much of a boost it’s given his teammates to have him around in the limited number of appearances he’s made at practices and games. Head coach Alain Vigneault has routinely beamed whenever discussing Lindblom and his presence. Jordan Hall wrote a really solid profile on Robert Hägg for NBC Sports Philadelphia over the weekend, including the defenseman’s bond with Lindblom.

If this image of Lindblom with assistant coach Ian Laperrière doesn’t warm your heart, I don’t know what will:

You have to believe this will give the already upbeat squad another positive boost of morale as they head into a tough stretch with four games in six days, including the top two teams in the Eastern Conference (home v. Boston, at Tampa Bay) and back-to-back home games against two Western Conference playoff teams in the Minnesota Wild and Edmonton Oilers.

The Flyers’ chances against Boston got a boost as defensemen Brandon Carlo and Torey Krug were ruled out for Tuesday night’s game:

We’ll have plenty of Flyers coverage over on the Snow The Goalie feed this week, including two player interviews over two episodes and three editions of The Press Row Show.
