Jason Whitlock recently departed FS1 following the expiration of his contract.

The… “controversial” personality had been hosting the weekday studio show Speak For Yourself, alongside Marcellus Wiley, and will be replaced by former Philadelphia Eagle Emmanuel Acho, who left ESPN.

Details via Outkick the Coverage:

FOX Sports has decided that Emmanuel Acho will co-host Speak for Yourself, not First Things First when he debuts on FS1, sources tell Outkick.

As Outkick previously reported, FOX signed Acho to be the fourth member on First Thing First. However, with Jason Whitlock’s departure from the network, it was decided Acho would instead replace him. Acho’s new co-host, Marcellus Wiley, joined the show in 2018.

ESPN discussed a radio role for Acho before his decision to move to FOX, sources say.

Nice move for Acho, who had been appearing on Get Up and other ESPN shows as a more peripheral personality. This is a jump into a “main host” type of role for him.

The Texas Longhorn was signed and released by the Birds a bunch of times during Chip Kelly’s tenure, ultimately playing 20 games and logging 33 tackles.
