It’s been nearly two weeks since Oskar Lindblom and the Flyers agreed to a 3-yr, $9m contract extension following the announcement that the young forward had completed his cancer treatments and was eyeing a comeback as early as this postseason. When it was announced that he made the 31-man roster traveling to Toronto, it reaffirmed an earlier belief from GM Chuck Fletcher and head coach Alain Vigneault that Lindblom could be part of that group and that a return this postseason was more than just a fleeting thought. It’s been noted a few times since then that following treatment, Lindblom traveled back to his native Sweden to be with family before reuniting with the Orange & Black in the Eastern Conference hub city.

If you were worried he might not have time to get some work in on the ice, fear not. Footage came out Tuesday afternoon showing the Flyers forward training with his former SHL team Brynäs IF:

Lindblom played under the Brynäs IF umbrella on U16, J18, J20, and finally the senior club teams from 2010-2017. A report from HockeySverige.se (H/T Alexander Appleyard) also noted that Lindblom plans to join the Flyers in Toronto by the end of the week. Lindblom also said that he feels like he’s getting better and better with his cardio, though the article notes it’s unlikely he’ll play this postseason for the Flyers unless the team makes a deep run. Based on the team’s exhibition win over Pittsburgh and round robin dismantling of the Bruins, he might want to get his skates sharpened and ready.
