This was posted to the Eagles sub reddit without credit, so if anyone knows where this came from, ping me and I’ll give the proper shout out (edit – it’s from Benjamin Solak at Bleeding Green).

Here’s a look at the Birds’ offensive depth chart and where they ended up as of Sunday afternoon:

Nine.

Nine starters out, leaving only Jason Kelce and Carson Wentz as the last men standing. The Eagles were also down their second tight end, Dallas Goedert, backup lineman Jack Driscoll, and could have used Marquise Goodwin had he not decided to opt out of this season (for legitimate family reasons).

Matt Pryor was also out on Sunday, so the offensive line looked like this at one point:

  • LT: Jordan Mailata (3rd on depth chart)
  • LG: Nate Herbig (2nd on depth chart)
  • C: Jason Kelce (starter)
  • RG: Jamon Brown (4th on depth chart)
  • RT: Brett Toth (4th on depth chart, I think…)

As a quick aside, Toth is a unique story. He’s the guy who went to Army and was given a military clearance to defer service and play football instead, hence the reason he’s on the roster in the first place. Before President Trump changed this policy via the Pentagon, there wouldn’t have been a pathway for Toth to play at this point in his career.

But yeah, that’s the deal with the offense right now. Miles Sanders and Zach Ertz are having MRIs done, and there’s no update on Driscoll or Johnson right now. DeSean Jackson, it was reported, WILL return, though it’s quite conceivable that they go into Thursday’s game with the same offensive line listed above, unless Pryor is cleared to play.

It’s an outrageous injury situation. I’ve never seen anything like it, and this is just the offense we’re talking about. We didn’t even mention the defense.
