Is it any consolation that the NFC East stinks?

The Dallas Cowboys lost 38-10 on Monday night, at home, to the Arizona Cardinals, who are not exactly the 1985 Chicago Bears. Zeke Elliott lost two fumbles in the Jerry World debacle and Dallas gave up 438 yards despite Kyler Murray only completing nine passes on the evening. Arizona ran it 35 times for 261 yards, which is good for 7.5 yards per carry.

With Andy Dalton’s pair of interceptions, the Cowboys finished -4 in turnover margin last night, and ESPN pulled this whopper of a stat from the Elias Sports Bureau:

Is that bad?

Dallas gas given up 215 points through six games, so 74 comprises more than one-third of that.

Here’s another stat for you:

Every single NFC East team has double-digit turnovers this season. Dallas leads the league with 15, Philly is tied for second-worst with 12, and the Giants and Washington Football Team have 10 each. They comprise four of the seven NFL teams with double-digit giveaways.

The division right now has five wins, 18 losses, and one tie, and three of those wins came against other NFC East teams. The only non-division wins are the Eagles over San Francisco and Cowboys over Falcons after an outrageous choke job.

Eagles win the division at 6-9-1. It’s gonna happen. Get ready for it.
