Sixers Waive Norvel Pelle and Marial Shayok, Reportedly Add a Two-Way Player
Couple of roster moves coming after the NBA draft, and preceding the free agency window, which opens today at 6 p.m.
Keith Pompey reported Thursday that Norvel Pelle was waived by the Sixers, which he seems to confirm right here:

And then today Kyle over at Voice reported the following:
The Sixers are waiving two-way player Marial Shayok, a source tells @thephillyvoice

Shayok is reportedly making way for:
The Philadelphia 76ers will sign guard Dakota Mathias to a two-way contract, per source. Mathias, 25, played for the Texas Legends last year, the Mavs' G-League affiliate, where he averaged 18.1 points and 3.1 assists per game, shooting 39.5% on 8.9 three-point attempts per game.

As it stands, the Sixers’ player pool looks something like this:
- Joel Embiid
- Ben Simmons
- Tobias Harris
- Seth Curry
- Danny Green
- Terrance Ferguson
- Matisse Thybulle
- Shake Milton
- Furkan Korkmaz
- Zhaire Smith
- Mike Scott
- Tyrese Maxey
- Isaiah Joe
- Paul Reed
- Dakota Mathias (TW), according to Derek
They have Alec Burks, Glenn Robinson III, Kyle O’Quinn, and Raul Neto all hitting free agency.
So they need a backup big, for sure. Depth behind Joel Embiid is nonexistent. They could try bringing back Nerlens Noel or signing Alex Len. Could use a backup ball handler as well, depending on how this regime views Shake Milton. D.J. Augustin is a name floating around out there, as well as Langston Galloway.
Should be a fun period, beginning in a few hours.
