Bruce Feldman is a credible guy.

Last week, the veteran college football writer said that Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland was going back to Alabama to replace Kyle Flood, who was joining Steve Sarkisian at Texas.

Now today we’ve got a report saying Stout is not Flood’s replacement, but instead it’ll be Doug Marrone:

In addition, on Tuesday, John Clark shared the following on Twitter:

I’m told there is still a chance Eagles OL coach Jeff Stoutland could return. Let’s hope.

Reports say Doug Marrone is close to becoming Alabama OL coach.

I’m told Jeff is under contract with Eagles and NFL assistants cant take other NFL jobs but he could go back to college.

Stoutland came to the Eagles from Alabama back in 2013. He was the offensive line coach for four seasons, then promoted to a dual role handling the OL and coordinating the running game. During his tenure, he’s coached five Pro Bowl linemen and got Big V paid in free agency. Dennis Kelly, who began under him, went on to start for the Titans, and he also turned rugby player Jordan Mailata into a bona fide, starting-quality left tackle.

Would be a big win if the Eagles keep Stout. Maybe if Duuuuuce gets the job, then he sticks around.
