Come on down, Dennis Allen.

You’re the next contestant in the Philadelphia Eagles head coaching search:

Hmm…

Allen’s Oakland Raiders were absolutely atrocious. He compiled a record of eight wins and 28 losses before he was fired less than halfway through his third season out in California.

To be fair, those teams didn’t have a lot of talent. Allen had an aging Carson Palmer in year number one, then Terrelle Pryor in year number two, and then rookie Derek Carr in year three. He had Darren McFadden and Marcel Reece and Rod Streater and nobody else that I can think of off the top of my head. Reece was the only Pro Bowler that team produced when Allen was there.

But the Saints defense was really good these past few years, and Allen has a variety of NFL coaching experiences taking him all the way back to 2002.

Might as well bring him in for an interview. They’re interviewing everybody under the sun. You might get the next interview.
