Eastern Division foes collide in a rematch between the Philadelphia Flyers and New Jersey Devils on the Prudential Center ice this evening.

Will the Devils even things up, or will the Flyers secure a mid-week sweep? Let’s take a look at this showdown from a betting perspective in our Flyers vs. Devils betting preview with odds, picks and predictions for this January 28, 2021 matchup.

Flyers vs. Devils Betting Preview

The Philadelphia Flyers picked up a well-played 5-3 win in the first meeting between these two clubs on Tuesday night. Forward James van Riemsdyk scored a pair of goals early to set the tempo, while Ivan Provorov added a goal and a pair of assists in the victory. Goaltender Brian Elliott made 23 saves to help secure the win.

New Jersey played hard in the second period, tying the game up at 2-2 after a goal by forward Travis Zajac. However, a pair of goals by Philly in the third got past Devils netminder Scott Wedgewood, who made 26 saves on the night.

Expect to see Wedgewood back in net for New Jersey with MacKenzie Blackwood still out due to COVID protocol, while the Flyers counter with regular starter Carter Hart between the pipes this evening.

Bets We Like With a Flyers Win

Claude Giroux OVER 2.5 Shots on Goal (-112, DraftKings)

In order for the Flyers to earn a win here tonight, they will need to continue getting offensive production from their top line forwards. The 33-year old veteran had two assists and three shots on goal in Tuesday’s contest, and I like him to get some more chances to score in this showdown.

Bets We Like With a Devils Win

Pavel Zacha to Score a Goal Anytime (+400, BetMGM)

The speedy 23-year old forward has been getting some quality looks on net over the last few games, scoring a goal late in the contest on Tuesday for his second tally of the season. Zacha has three goals and four assists in 15 career games against Philadelphia.

Bets We Like Independent of the Outcome

Full Game OVER 6 Goals (-105, BetMGM)

The Philadelphia Flyers have gone over the total in six of their first seven games to start the season. With 14 high-danger goals scored and 11 high danger goals allowed, they have been playing in some track meets despite facing teams who have offensive shortcomings like New Jersey. I anticipate a more high scoring affair in this contest tonight.

Flyers vs. Devils Prediction

Philly looked sharp at both ends of the ice on Tuesday, and I like them to continue finding chances to score in this showdown.

Carter Hart’s numbers on the road aren’t as sharp as they are at home, and I believe the Devils will pick up a few scores, but the Flyers skate away with another 5-3 victory.
