College football coach Mike Leach has been around the block.

He’s coached Texas Tech, Washington State, and now Mississippi State in the Southeastern Conference. A lot of good coaches learned under him. Lincoln Riley, Kliff Kingsbury, Dana Holgorsen, etc.

Now, according to The New York Times, Leach is taking a job in Joe Biden’s administration:

That’s fantastic. They got the wrong Mike Leach. They actually combined two people into one person.

The Michael Leach they’re looking for was indeed a former assistant to the Bears’ head coach, but he’s a black man who worked in the NFL’s labor relations and operations area as part of the league’s Management Council. He also had a brief stint with the Miami Dolphins, and most recently worked on Biden’s campaign as Chief People, Diversity, and Inclusion Officer. Now he’s assuming that same position within the new administration.

The Mike Leach we know is still coaching the Bulldogs. He is not bringing the Air Raid offense to the District of Columbia, though that would have been quite interesting.
