Hmm… well look, if the package is something like Ben Simmons, Tyrese Maxey, and Matisse Thybulle for James Harden and P.J. Tucker, then that’s something you’d definitely have to think about doing.
You’d be rolling out a starting unit of:
- James Harden
- Seth Curry
- Danny Green
- Tobias Harris
- Joel Embiid
And you keep your 6th man of the year candidate in Shake Milton and throw Mike Scott, P.J. Tucker, Furkan Korkmaz, and Terrance Ferguson in the mix, and that is a more than serviceable second unit.
You really have to consider this. Harden and Embiid would be an elite pairing. Losing a second-year three and D prospect and a rookie ball handler would stink, but you’re getting a generational talent in return. Sixers have to think about pulling the trigger if the trade structure is close to what we think it is.
