On Friday night, the Philadelphia 76ers will play host to the Chicago Bulls. The Sixers sit atop the Eastern Conference with a record of 19-10. The Bulls are 1.5 games behind the Charlotte Hornets for the eight and final playoff seed. Despite being three games under .500, Chicago is riding high coming off consecutive wins.

Let’s get into our Sixers-Bulls betting preview, including odds, boosts, and picks.

Preview

The Philadelphia 76ers were able to right the ship with a 118-113 home win over the Houston Rockets after suffering three consecutive road losses to the Trail Blazers, Suns, and Jazz. The Sixers held a 29-point lead over Houston and nearly squandered it, but the most important thing for Doc Rivers’ squad was coming out with the victory.

Philadelphia has won their last four games against the Chicago Bulls dating back to a win on April 6, 2019. MVP candidate Joel Embiid will look to keep up Philadelphia’s dominance at home, where they’ve gone 27-2 in their last 29 games.

The Chicago Bulls might be a sub-.500 team, but they’re an enjoyable watch and they’ve got a budding star on their roster in Zach LaVine. The 25-year-old is in the  midst of his best season, shooting a career high 52% from the field and 43.7% on 8.2 three-point attempts per game.

He’s been simply sensational for Bulls, leading his team to a 3-1 record in their last four games.

Sixers vs. Bulls Odds

Here’s the line for the Sixers and Bulls at DraftKings Sportsbook:

    • Spread: Sixers -8, Bulls +8
    • Moneyline: Sixers -335, Bulls +270
    • Total: 229.5

And here are the current best available odds for the Sixers (may not display on Google AMP pages):

Bets We Like With a Sixers Win

FiveThirtyEight gives the Sixers just a 83% chance of winning with a -10 point line. Philadelphia’s implied win probability based on the moneyline is a bit less bullish at 74%.

Sixers to Win and Over 229.5 Points (+155, DraftKings)

The Sixers’ only notable name on the injury report ahead of this one is point guard Ben Simmons, who’s listed as probable with “illness”. He’s been one of the most versatile perimeter defenders in the league this season and figures to be the primary defender of LaVine assuming he’s in the lineup. The Sixers are a far more talented team and should win this game with relative ease, though we expect a big performance from LaVine, especially beyond the arc.

As for taking the over, consider the Sixers’ last six games, all of which have seen the total points scored go over 229.5 points:

  • 2/6/21 v. BKN (232 points)
  • 2/9/21 @ SAC (230 points)
  • 2/11/21 @ POR (232 points)
  • 2/13/21 @ PHO (231 points)
  • 2/15/21 @ UTA (257 points)
  • 2/17/21 v. HOU (231 points)

If you’re looking for additional value on the Sixers to win, parlay it with the over at +155 odds.

Bets We Like Independent of Outcome

Joel Embiid and Zach LaVine to Each Score 30+ Points (+230, BetMGM)

Joel Embiid and Zach LaVine are in the midst of excellent seasons scoring at will to the tune of the fourth- and sixth-highest points per game averages in the league, respectively. Embiid has dominated the paint and hit a solid 39.7% from beyond the arc this season, averaging 29.7 points per game. His scoring is up in February at 32.9 points per game.

Zach LaVine’s 31.6 points per game in the month of February is up from his 28.5 points per game on the season.

Recent trends also favor this market hitting. LaVine has dropped at least 30 points in five of his last six games, with the lone exception being a 26 point performance in a loss to the LA Clippers. Embiid has scored at least 31 points in seven of eight games, with a 25 point performance in a win at Sacramento bucking the trend over that stretch.

Joel Embiid and Zach LaVine to Each Score 25+ Points (-161, FanDuel)

Thanks to FanDuel Sportsbook’s “Same Game Parlay”, you could hedge a bit on the Embiid and LaVine to score 30+ points prop by building your own for each player to score 25+ points at -161 odds. LaVine has scored at least 25 points in seven straight games, while Embiid’s done so in 12 consecutive games.

If you’re nervous about the 30+ point requirement of the previous bet, hedge a bit at reduced odds and get both players to score 25+ points each at -161 odds with FanDuel Sportsbook.

Zach LaVine Top Point Scorer of the Game (+160, FOX Bet)

If you’re looking for another prop bet to take a flier on, consider taking Zach LaVine to be the game’s top point scorer at +160 odds at FOX Bet. LaVine is averaging 33.5 points per game over his last two games, and is just four games removed from dropping a season-high 46 points in a home win over the New Orleans Pelicans. Unless another player has a massive breakout performance, it stands to reason that either Joel Embiid or Zach LaVine will end the game as the top scorer. Getting the NBA’s sixth-highest scorer at +160 odds is solid value.
