Kyle Lowry watch.

Here’s an update from John Clark, passing along some information shared by ESPN’s Brian “Windy” Windhorst:

Uhhh….

Are the Sixers trying to trade for Kyle Lowry or James Harden? What kind of package does Toronto really think they’re going to get?

Justin is also watching this and sharing notes:

Yeah, I mean the Lakers thing always seemed funky. Leverage. A leak. BS being thrown out there to junk up the situation.

Personally, there’s no way I’d do Maxey, Thybulle, the rest of the salary match, and two first rounders for 35-year-old Kyle Lowry. That’s basically the equivalent of four first round picks. It’s a package that gets you closer to Zach LaVine or Bradley Beal. We’re talking trade compensation for star 20-something year olds, and what’s what Toronto thinks they’re getting for an expiring mid-thirties guard?

Now, if you did Maxey, two first rounders, Danny Green (necessary for the match, plus whomever else) and then came up with some kind of extension for Lowry that was not $25 million a year, then certainly that’s much more palatable. You would think about doing that.

Dunno though. Throwing all of that at Toronto for Kyle Lowry just doesn’t seem worth it.
