A battle of Eastern Conference titans will go down Wednesday night at the Wells Fargo Center as the Brooklyn Nets (37-17) take on the Philadelphia 76ers (37-17).

Let’s take a closer look at this highly-anticipated matchup with three top player prop picks and predictions for this April 14, 2021 matchup.

Sixers vs. Nets Player Props (April 14, 2021)

The Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets have been on a collision course as the NBA postseason nears. In what could be a preview of this season’s Eastern Conference Final, the Sixers will host the Nets for the second time in the third overall meeting between the squads.

However, as has been the case in the prior two contests between the best teams in the Eastern Conference, we won’t be seeing the star-studded matchup that many had hoped for. While George Hill is the lone Sixer on the injury report, Brooklyn will be without a foursome of past All-Stars in James Harden, Kevin Durant, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Blake Griffin.

However, the absence of a number of Nets shouldn’t preclude interested bettors from getting in on player prop bets, especially the ones we’re bringing to you ahead of tonight’s contest.

Joel Embiid to Score Over 29.5 Points (-120, FanDuel Sportsbook)

Sixers franchise center Joel Embiid has been a dominant force in all but one of his five games since returning from a bone bruise in his knee that cost him three weeks of the season. On Monday night, he went off and might have reestablished himself as a player worthy of MVP consideration as he dropped 36 points on 10-17 shooting from the field, including 2-3 from beyond the arc. Of course, as had been the case with Embiid in his immediate return to the lineup, he feasted at the charity stripe, hitting 14-15 from the free throw line.

Given he was able to connect twice from deep, get to the free throw line regularity, and convert a number of midrange opportunities, it stands to reason Embiid will enter this game with a renewed confidence. With little-to-no options on to defend him adequately, it could be a long night for the Nets.

Kyrie Irving and Joel Embiid to Each Record 30+ Points (+300, BetMGM)

This is a high upside two player same-game parlay involving the best players available for their respective squads. As outlined above, we’re expecting a big game out of Sixers center Joel Embiid, so let’s take a look at the second half of this parlay.

Kyrie Irving will have to carry the torch for a shorthanded Brooklyn Nets team that will be without Kevin Durant and James Harden. Irving did not play in Tuesday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, but is expected to suit up on Wednesday night. Since the acquisition of Harden, Irving and to some extent Durant have had to reconfigure their respective games to maximize the skillsets of their fellow stars. Irving went off in a big way on April 5, when Durant was out of the lineup and Harden exited the game after playing just 4:22. Irving shouldered the scoring load, shooting 15-28 from the field, including 5-12 from deep, finishing with 40 points. In his next game without either of his costars, Irving dropped 24 points in just over 30 minutes of action. His points dipped a bit in his last game, a 25-point blowout loss to the Lakers, in which Durant led the team in scoring. Without Harden or Durant, one has to assume Irving will get plenty of opportunities to score in a big way.

Tobias Harris to Record Over 18.5 Points (-118, FOX Bet)

If there’s been a revelation for the Sixers aside from Joel Embiid’s MVP-caliber season, it’s been the breakout season put together by All-Star snub Tobias Harris. Originally seen as Philadelphia’s third option, Harris has stepped up in a big way, averaging 20.4 points (2nd on the team), 7.3 rebounds (4th on the team), and 3.6 assists (2nd on the team). He’s also converting 40.2% of his shots from deep.

In two games against the Nets this season, Harris is averaging 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists per game in 33 minutes of action. If there’s one area he’s struggled in against Brooklyn this season, it’s been from beyond the arc, where he’s hit just 1 of 5 attempts. It’s worth noting, however, that the forward has crossed the 18.5 point mark in three of his last five games and this has the makings of a breakout game against a depleted Brooklyn squad.

FOX Bet has a no-brainer offer for new users on Joel Embiid to score 1+ point tonight. Grab the offer in PA here. Get it in NJ here.
