On Friday night, the Philadelphia 76ers will play host to the Orlando Magic at the Wells Fargo Center. This matchup is the first of two between the teams in three days, the final games of each team’s respective regular season.

Let’s take a closer look at the top Magic vs. Sixers prop picks and make some predictions for this May 14, 2021 matchup.

Magic vs. Sixers Player Props (May 14, 2021)

The Philadelphia 76ers are 47-23 on the season with a 1.0 game lead over the Brooklyn Nets with only two games remaining in the regular season. Philadelphia had the opportunity to lock up the top seed in the Eastern Conference in each of their last two games, but failed to get the job done. However, one has to believe they’ll be able to get the job done in one of the next two games against a 21-49 Orlando Magic squad that’s a mere game ahead of the last-place Detroit Pistons.

Philadelphia should have had quite the boost a game ago, when franchise center Joel Embiid returned to the lineup after missing a game due to a non-COVID illness. The issue for Embiid was that he appeared to be hampered by the after effects of whatever illness cost him the prior game. Tobias Harris led the way with 21 points, but only bench guard Shake Milton and starter Danny Green were able to crack double digits with 12 and 11 point, respectively.

The regular season can’t end soon enough for the Orlando Magic, who are 3-7 in their last ten games, including a horrendous 116-93 loss to the Atlanta Hawks. RJ Hampton led the way with 18 points, while Wendell Carter, Jr. and Cole Anthony chipped in with 12 points apiece.

Joel Embiid to Record Over 35.5 Combined Points and Rebounds (-122, FanDuel Sportsbook)

Sixers center Joel Embiid had a miserable performance in his first game back after missing a meeting with the Indiana Pacers due to a non-COVID illness. His team has lost two consecutive games after winning eight straight, putting them on the precipice of locking up the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference. Philadelphia will get two attempts to get the job done against a walking-wounded Magic squad with minimal frontcourt depth to combat the Sixers big man.

We fully expect Embiid to bounce back from his 3-9 performance against the Heat with something more in line with his prior three games in which he averaged 33.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. Embiid has crossed the 35.5 combined points in three of his last six games and should do so once again against a Magic team that’s just 96 minutes away from the offseason.

Cole Anthony to Score Over 13.5 Points (-125, BetMGM)

The Orlando Magic’s injury report is a lengthy list to say the least. Big man Mo Bamba is questionable with a non-COVID illness, while Michael Carter-Williams, James Ennis III, Markelle Fultz, Jonathan Isaac, Chuma Okeke, Otto Porter Jr., and Terrence Ross are out with a wide array of injuries of varying severity. Perhaps the biggest potential beneficiary of the increased uptick in shots is rookie Cole Anthony.

Anthony is averaging 12.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game through 45 games this season. In seven games in the month of May, Anthony is averaging 14.1 points per game in 26.5 minutes per game. Even more impressive has been his last fifteen-game stretch, one which has seen him go over 13.5 points in 11 of those 15 games. He’s averaged double-digit field goal attempts and figures to see the same against Philadelphia on Friday night.

Seth Curry to Make 2+ Three-Point Field Goals (-167, FOX Bet)

Sixers sharpshooter Seth Curry has been excellent for Philadelphia this season, providing much-needed floor spacing for Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris to work into their preferred scoring zones. Of all the individual player props available for Friday night’s matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and Orlando Magic, getting Seth Curry to make 2+ three-pointers at -167 odds is about as good as it gets.

Curry has made exactly two three-pointers in two consecutive games after making at least three 3-pointers in four consecutive games. Overall, Curry has hit at least two shots from beyond the arc in 11 of his last 12 games dating back to April 19. Philadelphia can lock up the top seed in the East with a win. Expect Curry to get open looks early against a depleted Magic squad.
