On Tuesday night, the Brooklyn Nets will play host to the Milwaukee Bucks for Game 5 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals series.

Let’s take a closer look at the top Nets vs. Bucks Game 5 player prop picks and make some predictions for this June 15, 2021 NBA Playoffs matchup.

Nets vs. Bucks Game 5 Player Props (June 15, 2021)

Thus far through four games, the series between the Nets and Bucks has been a complicated one. From the macro view, a series between these teams being tied at two games apiece is far from surprising. However, the way that Milwaukee and Brooklyn got to this point has been far from expected. Despite losing James Harden 43 seconds into Game 1, the Nets rallied together and won each of the first two contests in Brooklyn. However, things changed as the series shifted to Milwaukee. The Bucks pulled out an ugly win in Game 3 before declaring victory in Game 4. It’s worth noting, however, that the Nets lost Kyrie Irving just over 17 minutes into the game. Irving has been ruled out ahead of Game 5, while Harden has been upgraded to doubtful.

Kevin Durant was a one man show in Game 4, scoring 28 points, though he did so on just 9-25 shooting from the field. Unfortunately for Durant, the second-leading scorer on the night was Kyrie Irving, who dropped 11 points in just 17:17 of game action before leaving with an ankle sprain. Fellow starters Joe Harris, Blake Griffin, and Bruce Brown combined for just 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists. They’ll need to be far more impactful for the Nets to win Game 5.

Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo looked every bit like a two-time MVP in Game 5, scoring 34 points, pulling down 12 rebounds, and 3 assists. Khris Middleton didn’t duplicate his staggeringly strong Game 4 performance, but he still put up 19 points, 8 assists, and 4 rebounds. Jrue Holiday (14), PJ Tucker (13), and Bryn Forbes (10) all also contributed double-digit scoring performances.

Jrue Holiday to Score Under 18.5 Points (-118, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Despite the fact that the Bucks have won consecutive games, their victories cannot be attributed to an explosive scoring output from point guard Jrue Holiday. Holiday posted his second-most points of the series in Game 4, shooting 6-16 from the field en route to 14 points. That was an encouraging sign as Holiday put up a woeful, playoff-low 9 points in Game 3. Through four games in this Eastern Conference Semifinals series, Holiday has not crossed the 18.5 points threshold, with his 17-point performance in Game 1 standing out as his series high.

After scoring 19+ points in two of his first three playoff appearances against the Heat, Holiday has gone under 18.5 points in five consecutive games. It remains to be seen just how big of an impact the absence of Kyrie Irving on the other side of the court will impact Holiday’s output. While it’s possible he could put together a stronger scoring performance, it’s unlikely he’ll go for 19+ on the road for the second time this postseason.

Kevin Durant to Record Over 44.5 Combined Points and Rebounds (-120, BetMGM)

Kevin Durant has been excellent for the Brooklyn Nets this postseason, but he’s faced with the high likelihood that he’ll be the only one of Brooklyn’s dynamic trio to suit up for Game 5. Unless James Harden improves from his already-upgraded “doubtful” status, Durant should put up at least 25 field goal attempts in Harden and Irving’s absence. KD struggled from the field in Game 4, shooting just 9-25 from the field in a 28-point performance. He also shot a playoff-worst 1-8 (12.5%) from beyond the arc in Game 4.

The key thing to keep in mind is that Kevin Durant has put up at least 28 points in four consecutive games and is averaging 31.3 points per game this postseason. Additionally, Durant has grabbed at least 10 rebound in three of his last four games, including a playoff-high 13 in Game 4.

The downside of this market is that Durant has only crossed the 44.5 combined points and rebounds twice in nine postseason games. If you’d rather go that way, BetMGM has those odds available at -110. The key thing to keep in mind is that so much of Brooklyn’s offense will have to run through Durant that he could eclipse 40 points alone. Taking the most gifted player in the series to put on a clinic at -120 odds is a worthwhile consideration.

Khris Middleton to Make 3+ Three-Point Field Goals (-128, FanDuel Sportsbook)

There tends to be real value in three-point scoring markets and taking Khris Middleton to make 3+ three-pointers is one of those bets. Middleton started off the postseason with by connecting on 3 three-pointers in each of his first three games against the Miami Heat. After going just 2-6 from beyond the arc in his team’s closeout game in the first round, Middleton missed all five attempts in Game 1 against the Nets. Those five attempts marked the lowest total he’s attempted in the playoffs.

Middleton has been consistent in each of his last three contests, hitting 3 three-point field goals in Game 2, Game 3, and Game 4. More importantly for this market, Middleton has attempted 8 three-pointers in two of his last three games. For a bet like this one, sheer volume of shots is critical, while his 54 points over the past two games are the highest two-game total he’s posted this postseason. If you’re looking for a solid three-pointer wager, this one presents arguably the best value.
