On Thursday night, the Milwaukee Bucks will play host to the Brooklyn Nets for Game 3 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals series.

Let’s take a closer look at the top Nets vs. Bucks Game 3 player prop picks and make some predictions for this June 10, 2021 NBA Playoffs matchup.

Nets vs. Bucks Game 3 Player Props (June 10, 2021)

It would be quite the understatement to say the Eastern Conference series between the #2 seed Brooklyn Nets and #3 seed Milwaukee Bucks has been a disappointment through two games. Superstar James Harden was lost to a hamstring injury in Game 1 on his first drive of the contest. Yet, the Nets persevered in a close game. The true underwhelming nature that has the chance to mar the legacy of this series is what happened in Game 2. The Nets laid an epic beatdown on the Bucks in a 125-86 victory. Milwaukee was not only unable to beat a Harden-less Nets squad, but got blown out by 39 points.

Two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo was underwhelming, posting just 18 points and pulling down 11 rebounds, while Khris Middleton once again struggled from the field, shooting 7-20 for 17 points. If there’s a positive to take out of the blowout loss for Milwaukee, it’s that they’re likely to rebound from a 29.6% shooting performance from beyond the arc after posting the fifth-highest percentage in the regular season.

The Brooklyn Nets were absolutely dominant in Game 2, with future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant once again elevating his game. Durant’s 32 points, 6 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block led the team, while he also pulled down four boards. The other half of Brooklyn’s dynamic duo had an efficient game as Kyrie Irving posted 22 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds.

Will the Nets take a decisive 3-0 series lead or will the Bucks cut the series lead in half?

Kevin Durant to Score Over 32.5 Points (-106, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Kevin Durant has been an absolute stud for the Nets this postseason, averaging 32 points per game through his first seven playoff games. After putting up 29 points on 12-25 shooting from the field in Game 1, Durant was even more efficient in Game 2, shooting 12-18 for 32 points.

If Brooklyn’s first round series against the Boston Celtics is any indication of what could happen on Thursday night in Milwaukee, the Bucks could be in trouble. In two road games in the first round, Durant put up his two highest point totals with 39 points in Game 3 and 42 points in Game 4. Given the absence of James Harden, expect Durant’s field goal attempts to increase in Game 3 as he’s slated to once again be the top scoring option for the Nets.

From a historical standpoint, KD has performed well in his last three Game 3s, posting 38 or more points in each of those appearances. It’s also worth noting that Durant averaged 34.7 points per game in three regular season games against the Bucks, and an astounding 37 points per game in two contests at the Fiserv Forum.

Giannis Antetokounmpo to Record Under 46.5 Combined Points and Rebounds (-120, BetMGM)

For as talented as Giannis Antetokounmpo is, he has struggled mightily to score in three of his last four postseason games, including an 18-point performance in Game 2. Prior to a 34-point Game 1 showing, Antetokounmpo averaged just 18.5 points per game in his final two games against the Heat in the first round of the playoffs.

As for the 46.5 combined points and rebounds market, keep in mind that Antetokounmpo has not crossed the threshold in any of his postseason games:

  • 5/22/21 v. MIA: 26 PTS, 18 REB (44 total)
  • 5/24/21 v. MIA: 31 PTS, 13 REB (44 total)
  • 5/27/21 @ MIA: 17 PTS, 17 REB (34 total)
  • 5/29/21 @MIA: 20 PTS, 12 REB (32 total)
  • 6/5/21 @ BRK: 34 PTS, 11 REB (45 total)
  • 6/7/21 @ BRK: 18 PTS, 11 REB (29 total)

While it’s likely Antetokounmpo will have a better game against the Nets at home, until he crosses the 46.5 combined points and rebounds threshold, it’s smart to follow the trend through the first six games and take the under.

Kyrie Irving to Make 4+ Three-Point Field Goals (-144, FanDuel Sportsbook)

Of the three picks, this one is a solid bet, though it might not be as much of a lock as the other two. Nets point guard Kyrie Irving has adapted his game to make up for the loss of James Harden. As such, he’s made a more concerted effort to bomb away from deep.

Through the first two games of this Eastern Conference Semifinals series, Irving is averaging 9.5 three-point field goal attempts and has shot 7-19 from beyond the arc overall. Irving hit 4-8 attempts from downtown in Game 2 and will likely put up at least eight attempts in Game 3 with Harden out once again. Although the Irving to make 3+ three-pointers market might be the safer bet, the -430 odds don’t offer much of an upside.

Irving has hit at least 3 three-pointers in his last four postseason games and at least four twice. In two regular season games against the Bucks, he registered a 2-8 performance and followed it up with a 6-12 showing two days later, with both games taking place in Milwaukee.
