Eagles news on a Monday morning:

Mullens had been one of the rumored QB3 targets. Adam Caplan at Inside the Birds was the first to report there the Eagles were showing interest.

You’re familiar with the QB because the Eagles beat San Francisco in 2020 with Mullens under center, a game in which he went 18-26 for 200 yards and a touchdown, with two interceptions. He played three seasons for the Niners as an undrafted free agent coming out of Southern Miss, and got a bunch of starts because Jimmy G was dealing with injury.

For his career, Mullens has 25 touchdowns, 22 interceptions, and a 64.5% completion rate. He’s started 16 games and is only 26 years old, so you can do a lot worse for a QB2 or QB3, depending on where Joe Flacco lands on the depth chart.

Also, this officially ends the “Nate Sudfeld as the third stringer” era, so let’s pour one out for our guy.
