As we slowly exit the COVID-19 pandemic, live music is returning to a stage near you.

That means the Made in America festival returns to Philadelphia, and this year we’ve got the Canadian Justin Bieber as one of the headliners:

Now, I’ve got to be honest; there are 15 acts listed here and I’ve only heard of five of them. Bieber, obviously, and Megan Thee Stallion, because she was in the WAP video. Tinashe is Ben Simmons’ ex-girlfriend and Lil Baby and Bobby Schmurda sound familiar.

Seems like the festival is going heavy into hip hop. Some of the early iterations of Made in America featured rock acts and EDM and the entire thing was a little more diverse musically. Back in the day you had Pearl Jam and Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, Calvin Harris, and Coldplay up in here. This lineup is a little…. homogeneous, for lack of a better word,

Anyway, if the kids are into it, cool. Live music is live music, even if it sucks. We’re getting things back to normal around here.
