On Friday night, the Atlanta Hawks will play host to the Philadelphia 76ers for Game 6 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals series.

Let’s take a closer look at the top Hawks vs. Sixers Game 6 player prop picks and make some predictions for this June 18, 2021 NBA Playoffs matchup.

Hawks vs. Sixers Game 6 Player Props (June 18, 2021)

The upstart Atlanta Hawks are one win away from pulling off a massive upset against the top seed in the Eastern Conference, the Philadelphia 76ers. After blowing two late double-digit point leads in consecutive games, the Sixers are on the verge of an early, disappointing exit from the NBA Playoffs. Trae Young’s meteoric rise to stardom can add another  feather in his proverbial cap with a win, earning an Eastern Conference Finals berth.

The Philadelphia 76ers put together an all-time collapse for the ages in Game 5, blowing a 20+ point second half lead en route to a 109-106 loss. Joel Embiid was dominant in the first half, but struggled a bit as he did in Game 4, however his final stat line of 37 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 blocks, and 2 steals was every bit MVP-caliber.  Sharpshooter Seth Curry went off in a big way, shooting 13-19 from the field, including 7-12 from beyond the arc racking up 36 points. If Philadelphia is to have  any shot of extending  this series, they’ll need far more from point guard Ben Simmons and forward Tobias Harris, who combined for 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 12 assists in the loss.

The Atlanta Hawks were once again led to victory by Trae Young, whose 39 points were a game-high. Young also led the  Hawks with 7 assists and 3 steals. John Collins (19), Danilo Gallinari (16), and Lou Williams (15) all scored in double figures.

Can the Hawks end this series at home tonight or will the Sixers force a decisive Game 7 in Philadelphia?

Seth Curry to Make 1+ Three-Pointer in the 1st Quarter (+120, BetMGM)

When it comes to props tied to a specific timeframe, it doesn’t get much better than this one. Simply put, Seth Curry is one of the best shooters from distance in the NBA. Taking Curry to make a specific number of three-pointers can get tricky, but this first quarter market is worth throwing down money on.

In Game 1 of this series, Curry hit his first three-pointer  of the game with 6:54 remaining in the first quarter. He went on to hit four more in the contest. Game 2 saw Curry connect on five shots from distance, including one first quarter strike with 4:05 remaining.

After failing to hit a first quarter three in Game 3, Curry hit two of his three 3PT field goals in the first quarter of Game 4, both coming with 3:15 or less remaining in the quarter.

In Game 5, Curry connected on 7 three-pointers, including two in the first quarter. Curry connected on his first with 8:04 remaining in the opening quarter and followed it up with another 1:17 later.

Coming off a 36-point outburst in Game 5, expect the Sixers  to get Curry some looks from downtown early and often.

Trae Young to Make Over 2.5 Three-Point Field Goals (-120, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Hawks superstar guard Trae Young has been a standout star this postseason, racking up high point totals with ease. The success he’s found in this series against the Sixers has been built in large part on his success from beyond the arc. After hitting at least 3 three-pointers in three of his team’s five games against the New York Knicks  in the first round, Young has been arguably more dangerous against Philadelphia.

After connecting on 4-11 shots from downtown in Game 1 in Philadelphia, Young had his worst shooting game of the postseason from beyond the arc,  going just 1-7. He rebounded in a big way, hitting at least 3 three-pointers in Game 3 and Game 4 in Atlanta. Although he only hit 2 three-point field goals in Game 5, it’s worth noting that Young has drilled at least 3 three-pointers in three of four postseason games in front of the Atlanta crowd. It’s also worth noting that Young hit just as many distance shots in the lone regular season meeting between the teams at the State Farm Arena.

Young will look to put his team up big early in this game with a chance to book a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals. Expect him to bomb away with at least seven attempts from beyond the arc.

John Collins to Score 15+ Points (-152, FanDuel Sportsbook)

Atlanta forward John Collins has had quite a successful series against the Sixers, putting up plenty of points in support of Trae Young, while pulling down double-digit rebounds in three of five contests.

Collins’ ability to extend offensive possessions has been huge for the Hawks, while his prowess on the defensive boards free Young up on the fast break. Collins’ ability to get buckets has been an underrated storyline in this series, but getting him to score 15+ points at home at -152 odds is worth a look. Collins is coming off a 19-point performance in Game 5, in which he went 7-12 from the field and 3-4 from beyond the arc.

Collins has scored at least 19 points in two of his last three games an in three of the five games in this series. In four home playoff games this postseason, Collins is averaging 18.3 points per game. If you’re looking for an under-the-radar prop, this one is a great one to consider.
