I don’t know about you, but I grew up on Pardon the Interruption. I don’t really watch it anymore, but I used to find it entertaining when I was younger.

I actually met Tony Kornheiser once, too. Sort of.

Back in 2006, I was a 20-year-old production intern at NFL Films over in Mt. Laurel. I was washing my hands in the bathroom when he walked in and said hello. Like a weirdo, I choked out some type of hi/hello/hey noise, gave him this awkward nod/half-smile combo, and walked out.

My first brush with sports media fame.

I’m pretty sure he was there going over film and production stuff to get ready for his new gig on Monday Night Football.

Anyway, Kornheiser wasn’t on the show yesterday, but Michael Wilbon was, and he had some interesting things to say about Ben Simmons’ future in Philadelphia.

Wilbon told co-host Frank Isola he believes the Sixers can get an All-Star talent in a potential Simmons deal. He then said  something that 94 WIP’s Jon Johnson picked up and tweeted this morning:

I was in the Dunkin’ Donuts line when I saw Johnson’s tweet, so I decided to find the clip and tweet it out. I left it a bit long to provide some greater context. Here it is:

If you want or need the full context, I dropped the entire segment at the bottom of this post. Wilbon actually spends most of it picking apart Simmons’ game before he takes the jab at Philly fans.

I think most people agree that a Simmons/Philly divorce is probably best for both parties, but is the “he can’t survive there, of all places” comment one we need to offended by?

I say no.

My take?

There’s less than two weeks ’til Eagles training camp.
