Let’s get it back to hockey.
The Flyers Tuesday announced six finalists for the team’s Hall of Fame.
They are:
Did Gagne really play 691 games? I guess he did, huh? He was here for 10 years, so it all makes sense. I thought for sure Recchi and Tocchet had him beat, but I guess they didn’t play as many games during their second stints with the Flyers.
Here’s how the selection goes down, from the team website:
A nominating committee selected the six finalists, and now, a voting committee comprised of current Flyers Hall of Fame members, Flyers alumni, members of the Flyers front office, broadcasters, and members of the Philadelphia chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers Association (PHWA) will vote to decide which individual(s) will be enshrined in the rafters of Wells Fargo Center. The voting committee is not limited to selecting only one inductee.
The Flyers actually have not added anyone to the Hall of Fame since 2016, when Jimmy Watson went in. Rod Brind’Amour and Eric Desjardins were inducted in 2015.
Couple of random thoughts here:
Go Flyers.
