Best Eagles vs. 49ers Player Props

Jalen Hurts Over 0.5 Interceptions (-130)

OK, Eagles fans, hear us out before getting angry. Hurts was phenomenal in Week 1 against the Falcons — and that might be a bit of an understatement. He was nearly flawless in all facets of the game.

However, the Niners and Falcons are on completely different sides of the NFL spectrum. Atlanta might end up being the worst team in the NFL, one possessing a bottom-feeder defense. On the flip side, San Francisco looks like a legitimate contender in the NFC with one of the best defensive lines — and linebacker groups — in football.

Hurts is mobile, but the pressure the Niners bring could force him into a few tough situations. All it takes is one misread, a fluky tip, or a hopeful heave for Hurts to throw a pick. As great as the second-year quarterback looked in Week 1, this is only going to be his sixth start in the NFL. A young quarterback against an experienced defense is typically a recipe for at least one turnover.

Jalen Hurts Over 49.5 Rushing Yards (-115)

See, we really don’t hate Jalen Hurts. In fact, even if he throws an interception, we think Hurts is going to have a strong game on the ground against the 49ers. Like last week, expect to see Nick Sirianni to throw a bunch of different looks at San Francisco to keep his quarterback in favorable situations.

Look for the Eagles to mix in some run-pass option to try and keep those dangerous defensive ends at bay. Joey Bosa can be a menace when it’s an obvious passing down. Hell, he can be a menace in just about every situation.

This pressure off the edge could end up helping bettors who take the over on this Hurts prop. If Bosa and his pals can flush Hurts out of the pocket, he’s going to be forced to scramble for yards. Even if San Francisco opts to put a QB spy on Hurts, he’s capable of making the first defender miss.

After going for 62 rushing yards in the season opener, expect Hurts to follow that up with another strong rushing performance against the Niners.

DeVonta Smith Anytime Touchdown Scorer

We are buying all the stock on DeVonta Smith after his promising Week 1 debut. Although Smith led the Eagles in targets, receptions, and receiving yards, Hurts did a good job of spreading the ball out amongst all of his targets.

With that said, we are seeing early signs that Hurts might wind up leaning on his old college teammate when times get tough. To be clear, times were not tough against the Falcons last week, but the Niners are going to be a different story.

Smith is capable of taking the top off the defense with his speed or finding the open pocket when his team is in the red zone. Last year’s Heisman Trophy winner will be striking a pose in the endzone one way or another against San Francisco on Sunday.
