Some NFL news from ESPN:

NFL playoffs on a week night? Why not?

This means we’ll have playoffs on Saturday, Sunday, and then Monday, in the following time slots:

  • Saturday, January 15th: 4:35 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.
  • Sunday, January 16th: 1:05 p.m., 4:40 p.m., and 8:15 p.m.
  • Monday, January 17th: 8:15 p.m.

That feels a little funky on the surface, since the opening weekend of the NFL playoffs has always been a two-day affair. Last year, when the field was expanded to 14 teams, they did three games on Saturday and three games on Sunday, then in the divisional round it was two games each on Saturday and Sunday.

Ask around though, and I think most people would be fine with stretching wild card weekend to three days.
