Another win for a Philly guy in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

This weekend, Sean Brady beat Michael Chiesa by decision to improve to 15-0 and 5-0 since signing with the promotion back in 2019:

Brady, a Burholme native, now has three decision and two submission wins since making his UFC debut. He first fought his way to 10-0 on the local circuit, winning the Cage Fury Welterweight title in Philadelphia before defending it twice in Atlantic City.

Brady was ranked 14th going into this fight, and beat the #6 Welterweight, so he’ll be moving on up. There are some very interesting fights to make here. They could offer him a fight with unbeaten phenom Khamzat Chimaev. Vicente Luque and Wonderboy Thompson are up there in the top five. Colby Covington lost twice to the champ, Kamaru Usman, and needs to work his way back up. Gilbert Burns and Leon Edwards are the other guys in the mix.

There’s been a nice Philadelphia resurgence in the UFC since Eddie Alvarez left the promotion and Paul Felder retired. You’ve got Brady at 15-0. Chris Daukaus is 4-0 with a fight coming up against former title challenger Derrick Lewis. His brother Kyle Daukaus is 10-2 and coming off a no contest against Kevin Holland. There’s also Bristol’s Pat Sabatini, who scored a decision win the other night to improve to 3-0 in the UFC, and Jeremiah Wells, who will fight on the Jose Aldo vs. Rob Font undercard in two weeks.

What we need is another UFC Fight Night in Philly. Get all of these guys on the card.
