Meanwhile, they’re advocating for violence up in Canada:

Notice that Mr. Seixeiro says “someone wearing a Raptors jersey,” but doesn’t specify if he’s talking about players only. This could perhaps mean that a fan wearing a Raptors jersey takes this tweet the wrong way and then comes out of the stands to put Joel on his ass. Then we’d have a big problem! This is reckless and dangerous! Sid Seixeiro doesn’t know what he’s doing here. He must apologize and then be cancelled anyway.

Apparently this guy does some TV show up there called Breakfast Television, and his Wikipedia is so short that I can just drop the whole thing in here:

Sid Seixeiro (born March 30, 1977) is a Canadian television broadcaster, who has been the cohost of Breakfast Television on the Citytv network since March 2021.[1][2]

Formerly cohost with Tim Micallef of the radio and television sports talk show Tim and Sid,[3] he was announced on January 21, 2021 as the new cohost of Breakfast Television.[4]

Originally from Mississauga, Ontario, he is an alumnus of the broadcasting program at Humber College.

Sid Seixeiro. What a name. It’s like a mix between Sid Vicious and Mark Teixeira.

Anyway, these kinds of takes are funny, because it’s what your dad used to say in 1992. Your dad and uncles wanted Mitch Williams to throw high and inside “just to send a message.” But society has evolved to the point where you aren’t supposed to say that part out loud anymore. Maybe the Raptors do indeed set the tone by bodying Embiid to the floor early to get the crowd into it, but TV talking heads aren’t supposed to call for that outright. You gotta be a little more discreet in 2022.
