Me every time I get to write “former” Villanova coach Jay Wright:

It’s the only thing keeping me together between a potential Sixers series going up in flames and the Phillies not getting off to a hot start. Good news for Villanova fans is Wright has left the door open to coaching again. Bad news it’s in the NBA:

Via the Keyshawn, JWill & Max Show:

Appearing Tuesday on ESPN’s Keyshawn, JWill & Max, Wright said he’s not looking to coach right now, but added “I’d be lying” if he said he hadn’t thought about coaching in the NBA.

“Not right now. That was something I always thought about,” Wright said of his NBA ambitions. “My experience with the Olympics kind of scratched that itch. … I kind of feel like I did it a little bit. And I loved coaching those guys.”

“Right now I definitely need a break,” Wright said Tuesday. “Right now I’m looking forward to this [special assistant] position at Villanova. But honestly, down the road, I’d be lying — I don’t know what I’m going to feel like.”

Jesus, Jay! Nova’s dead body is still warm and you’re already planning your next move? Diabolical. I can hear all the Villanova fans reading this right now, “So what? Jay Wright owes us nothing. 2016 and ’18! Kyle Neptune! Wildcats bitch!” while looking like this:

Even the Nova couple who invites the mascot to their wedding has to worry about fading to obscurity. The basketball program is your entire identity. You took the last 20 years of Wright for granted, admit it. It’s going to suck sweating out games against DePaul in the Pavilion. When Villanova basketball stinks they might as well be Haverford College.

If you’re not even a little bit mad at Wright going out at 60 while Fran Dunphy is 76 and just got hired at LaSalle you’re not a real fan. The entire Temple basketball team transferred and this might be the most excited I’ve been for an upcoming season in five years because Wright won’t be on the sidelines. Make the Big 5 Great Again.

Me watching Wright take an NBA job while Neptune finishes 6th in the Big East:
