I will never say anything nice about SNY for the rest of my time on this Earth. I spent 1,000 words ball-washing the broadcast today while comparing it to NBC Sports Philadelphia and look where it got me. Here comes Keith Hernandez to remind me why you never saying anything nice about the Mets:

Nice quote. Pretty boy.

Here’s video of Hernandez talking about the Phillies not being fundamentally and defensively sound enough for him to do his job:

Since Keith said that, the Phillies have hit two bombs while Alec Bohm and Edmundo Sosa have made some really nice defensive plays.

MY KINGS T-Mac and Kruk are having fun with it on the NBC Broadcast:

Lets look at some defensive stats.

The Phillies have fewer errors than the Mets. Fewer errors per game. A better fielding percentage. They’re tied in defensive efficiency. They stack up pretty well. The fundamentals have gotten better through the season. There aren’t a lot of base-running blunders that stick out recently and they definitely improved defensively at the deadline. I think it’s pretty clear Keith hasn’t watched the Phillies since May.

Guess Keith Hernandez isn’t over that key error he made on June 14th, 1987 which led to a five run 9th inning by the Phillies:
