Michael Irvin was on Dan Sileo’s YouTube show Wednesday and said he’s afraid the Eagles can become a dynasty.

Here’s the full quote:

Heard this before? Yeah. That’s because he said the same thing almost word-for-word back in May:

We already have a “Philadelphia Dynasty.” Isn’t that what you call Chickies & Petes?

Listen, everyone has different definitions of dynasty. In my opinion, winning a Super Bowl two out of three years is considered a dynasty. Football is the hardest sport to actually have a dynasty. The grueling season, coaches and player movement, the salary cap and free agency, plus the ability to stay focused and come back next season and accomplish the same goal. Think about it – Peyton Manning, Russell Wilson, Drew Brees, Brett Favre, and Aaron Rodgers were never a part of a dynasty. Brees, Favre, Rodgers, and Wilson have the same number of Super Bowl wins as Nick Foles and Trent Dilfer. This shit is hard.

As much as I want the Eagles to go on a dynasty run, lets be honest, there are so many question marks still with this team. Think of the QBs who have been part of a dynasty: Tom Brady, John Elway, Steve Young, Joe Montana, Ben Roethlisberger. Now think of the coaches: Bill Belichick, Mike Shanahan, Bill Walsh, and a combo of Bill Cowher/Mike Tomlin. Does Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni scream dynasty to you? Some of the greatest QBs of all time and most innovative coaches of all time built dynasties. If Jalen Hurts went into Tampa last year and slayed the GOAT I’d listen to more dynasty talk. Even if you think Jalen isn’t the answer, and the Birds could get some stud QB next year in the draft he’s typically going to take 1-2 years to develop. Let’s win the division before we start planning multiple parades down Broad Street.

We went more in depth about Michael Irvin’s comments on Crossing Broadcast yesterday:
