Jeff Blumenthal at The Philadelphia Business Journal spoke with 94 WIP Brand Manager Rod Lakin about the big changes at WIP.

If you’re living under a rock and unaware, Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie will replace Angelo Cataldi, and the new midday show has yet to be announced. James Seltzer is moving, too. They’re basically shifting the entire midday show to the mornings.

Couple of quick nuggets from the story, which is in Q/A format:

So you will have two producers for the morning shoe in Joe Weachter and James Seltzer? How will that work?

[It’s] not very unusual for a morning drive show. And there’s many shows that have multiple producers. I don’t know if anybody is defined as co-producer, but I’ll tell you that now on the morning show, we do have support producers who work alongside Joe.

What can you say about Al Morganti’s role moving forward?

I’ll leave it at what I said (Thursday) morning, which is that Al is very much, deservedly, looking forward to sleeping in every day. He’s forever part of our family and we’re going to figure out what the next role for him is.

Interesting notes about the producers. I never thought of a show having two at the same time, but there’s a lot going on the mornings. A lot of callers, a lot of reads, quirky games and goofy shit like that. I imagine Seltzer will be on the mic as well. The response about Morganti is a little vague, so who knows what’s going on with him.

It’s a good read though, here’s the full thing, with some notes about Joe Conklin and others:
