Matt Gelb reported last week that Scott Franzke and Tom McCarthy were getting contract extensions to remain in their Phillies broadcasting roles.

In a press release Tuesday confirming that, a nugget was included about Kevin Stocker:

In addition to the contract extensions for McCarthy and Franzke, the Phillies have signed Kevin Stocker to a multi-year contract. Stocker will serve as the club’s radio color analyst for road games and select home games not called by Larry Andersen. Andersen, the club’s longtime color analyst, will continue to call most home games for the 2023 season.

Then it’s Gregg Murphy hosting pregame and postgame radio both at home and on the road.

So your crews in 2023 will be:

  • television: Tom McCarthy, John Kruk, Ruben Amaro Jr., Ben Davis
  • radio: Scott Franzke with Kevin Stocker or Larry Andersen, Murph on pre and post

In years past, there had been more people involved with radio color commentary, so this year it’s an LA/Stocker platoon. Based on comments on social media and elsewhere, it seems like most Phillies fans are happy with the TV and radio arrangements.
