Great story from Howie Roseman on Jason and Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast. That defensive scout team player of the year award should be worth at least a third round grade:

 

It’s fun to see the evolution of Howie. From grading first ballot Hall of Fame centers with a fourth round mark, to taking old volunteer firemen in the first, to drafting Big 12 wide receivers, to finally figuring it out in 2021 that we just draft SEC guys early. When someone tells you it’s impossible to evolve after a certain age, you look to Howie for an example.

Howard Mudd looked like one of those guys you just can’t picture at one point being 20 years old. This dude had to come out of the womb with a full beard and wrinkles. This is the dude you wanted on the sidelines leading you into battle:
