The Eagles signed a long snapper:

This would appear to signal the end of the Rick Lovato era. No relation to Demi, Lovato is out of contract following nine Eagles seasons and fewer bad snaps than I can count on one hand. The guy had two penalties in the Super Bowl and was a little shaky in the playoffs, which didn’t matter because Braden Mann showed everyone that he has the best hands since Freddie Mitchell.

Whatever the case, Lovato is one of an elite group that can say they won two Super Bowls in Philadelphia. It’s him, Jake Elliott, Lane Johnson, and Brandon Graham. That’s it. Lovato was one of those guys who you never talked about because he never messed up. Every time you saw his name on the roster it was like, “oh yeah, Lovato is on the team.” And that’s a good thing because if you’re a long snapper and nobody ever talks about you, it means you’re getting the job done. He even went to a Pro Bowl in 2019 and finished with 23 tackles as an Eagle. Some absolute sicko should go through the special teams footage and put together a Rick Lovato tackle reel. Would be disgustingly good.

Lovato, by the way, has career earnings of almost nine million dollars. It’s proof that even if you do one thing, if you do it consistently and at a high level you’re gonna be successful. Look no further than the Asian woman who rides the unicycle and flips bowls onto her head.

If this is it, best of luck to the guy. Rick Lovato long snapped the Birds to two rings and shouldn’t have to pay for a drink in this town ever again.

EDIT –

looks like a confirmation here from Jake Elliott:
