Kyle's take:

Eddie Jordan now has the best job in sports.  He is owed $6 million (gaw!) over the next two years to sit at home and do nothing, after taking a giant deuce in the collective beds of Sixers fans.  He had a record of 27-55 in his only season here. That, after a record of 230-288 as the coach of the Wizards and Kings.

I am going to try that at work.  Perform woefully inadequate for the better part of a decade, then ask to take two years pay as severance.

Let the Jay Wright rumors commence.  As a Nova Fan, I'm going to go throw up now.

Mike's take:

This will be the second year in a row that he has been fired, and I'm excited to find out who is going to give him yet another chance. To put in perspective how bad of a year the Sixers had, they won 27 out of 82 games this year. So far this year, the Phillies combined with the Eagles of 2009, won 18 out of 24 games.

Rumors are already swirling about Larry Brown making a return here, and while I like him and think he would help, he has a tendency bounce around and I think this team needs a more steady coach that will be here at least 3-4 seasons. Avery Johnson is a guy I wish the Sixers would hire, but I would accept and be happy with Larry coming back.

This could be a big off season for the Sixers, I don't expect them to land any monster free agents, although you never know, Stefanski may have to do something to save his job, but they could get a good lottery pick and even get a quality coach.  I think theres a reason to have a little bit of excitement for the Sixers off season, they have good young talent, but are in desperate need of coaching and direction, maybe they will get both and even get a little more talent on the way.
