I Love the 80's: 1987
In mid-July of 1987 Jamie Moyer was pitching in his 2nd season in the majors for the Chicago Cubs, "Alone" by Heart was the #1 song in the country, Whitney by Whitney Houston was the top-selling album in the country, The Cosby Show was the top-rated TV show, RoboCop was the #1 movie at the box office that week, and the man who yesterday became the richest player in Phillies franchise history was only 7 years old.
The reason I bring this up is not to remind you how old Jamie Moyer is or how badly late 80's pop culture has aged over the years. That week in 1987 was also the last time that Moyer won a game in San Francisco. He will try to end that streak tonight.
