Dom Brown Can’t Even Get Into a Winter League Game

Remember all those days this summer when we wondered if Dom Brown would ever get another at-bat, as he was seemingly the last man off the bench?
Well, he can't even get into a winter ball game in the Dominican Republic. He joined his Escogido team on Monday- today is Saturday- and he still hasn't played. [Philly.com]
Domonic Brown joined Escogido of the Dominican winter league on Monday. He has yet to appear in a game.
A Phillies official said Brown is still getting back into playing shape after not swinging a bat for three weeks. So keep an eye this week on how (if) Brown is used. The Phillies certainly didn't send him there to sit on the bench.
Most likely Brown will get into a game after a few days of BP. But it's the winter league, just put him in a damn game. If Jayson Werth isn't a Phillie next year (which is all but a foregone conclusion), Brown will obviously be relied on heavily. It would be nice if he got some hacks.
Hardball Talk notes that Brown's manager in the Dominican League is Ken Oberkfell, longtime coach in the Mets organization. Conspiracy! We're joking, of course…
