Chase Utley and Joe Blanton Serve Beer at CBP

Wellllll, if you can't play second base, you might as well put yourself to some use.

Actually, Chase Utley and Joe Blanton (shown here in the Diamond Club) were just two of the Phillies who appeared around the ballpark during last night's game against the Pirates.

The game was scheduled to start at 7:05, but apparently an endless stream of boyscouts delayed the start until 7:29. I'm sure everyone in attendance – including the players – was thrilled to be sitting in 40 degree weather for even longer than they anticipated.

J-Mac has the recap. Here's Cliff Lee meeting with fans.

  1. Kyle Kendrick came to the Season Ticket Holder’s Welcome Picnic – I was disappointed when he arrived – I was hoping for someone good to show up, lol!

  2. I would have loved to have Blanton serve me up a cold one! If only…. sounded like last night was a lot of fun 🙂

  3. 42,500 people were at the game last night. I swear that 37,000 of them were boy scouts and girl scouts. They really need to start those parades earlier.

  4. Was there.. Had the misfortune of watching Ibanez sell pretzels at the one stand. Only to get yelled at for stating that I would like him to sign my balls.
    CBP security gotta love it.
