Flyers Lose to the Thrashers

Flyers_thrashersNot funny

Talk about taking a big shat in the bed during a winnable game.

We would write about what happened, but the Flyers didn't score. Jeff Carter did hit the post with under a minute to go, however. Sooooo… there's that.

Adding insult to injury, or injury to insult, Paul Holmgren announced that Chris Pronger might not be back until the playoffs… at best: [Philly Sports Daily]

“Probably pushed it a little too quickly in the rehab and i would classify it as a minor setback,” Holmgren said. “We were hoping he’d be back to play some games here at the end of the regular season but that’s probably more than likely out of the equation now.”

The initial timetable for Pronger’s return was three to four weeks which might have given him a shot to play in the last couple games for the Flyers. Now there are only five left and there appears to be little hope that the team’s top blueliner will return in that time frame.

The doctors still believe he'll be back for the playoffs.

  1. Once upon a time, the Thrashers used to be our bitch, now we can’t beat them for beans. As for Pronger, nothing like potentially bad news after a bad loss. Urgh!

  2. Fresh legs for the playoffs. No complaints here. Unless, they lose their 1st seed.

  3. I was going to ask which post Carter hit, the Goal or the bed post. But I realized that’s a silly question, the answer is obviously both.
