UPDATE: Cole Hamels Likely to Miss Friday’s Start, and Polanco News

Kyle Scott | August 16, 2011

According to CSN, Hamels will likely miss his start on Friday. Yesterday, he had dye injected into his shoulder for an MRI, a process which prohibits him from throwing a ball for two days. That likely pushes Friday's start back (at least) a day.

We'll know more later, when the Phillies will meet with the media.

UPDATE: Cole will skip his turn in the rotation. He has inflammation in his pitching shoulder. No DL, for now.

Placido Polanco says he will probably go on the DL, but doesn't think he'll need surgery on his sports hernia, which apparently wasn't made any worse by Eli Whiteside ramming him like a horny bull on energy drinks:

Count me as skeptical on that.

Amaro doesn't believe he will need surgery, either
