A Compilation of Andy Reid’s Smuggery This Weekend

If a fat man holds a press conference and doesn’t say anything, does a press conference really occur?

Yesterday, Andy Reid held what may be his most abrupt press conference, even by his standards. Total time: 3:18.

He gave one word answers to about half of the questions asked, and other non-answers to the rest.

Today, he was a bit more verbose, but perhaps even less friendly. For your listening pleasure, we’ve compiled a sampling of Reid’s smuggery. The answers you hear are complete responses to questions, not random sound bytes, smushed together into one minute long clip.

  1. This guy is the most arrogant and disrespectful person I’ve ever seen towards the media and/or the fans. He truly thinks he is just THAT much better than everyone. I don’t know if he realizes it, but when you’re disrespectful towards the media, you are treating the fans the same amount of disrespect. The fans need the media to hear what the coaches and players have to say, and when you come off like he does, it’s a slap in the face to us. I really can’t take it anymore. He had his chance to win a Super Bowl. It’s time for something new.

  2. Who was the young kid who asked some off the wall questions including whether Marty M. would still be calling the plays?

  3. The Philly sports media should fight back. Reid is there because the league mandates these conferences, but the league does not mandate he not be a doosh.
The Philly sports media cartel, should boycott. When AR comes out next week, they should ask nothing. Just sit there in silence.
Because Reid adds nothing to their stories, they should treat him like nothing. he’s been treating them like nothing for 13 years – give it back. Stop trying to ‘kiss his winkie’ and let him hang up there.

  4. @Jmac, you’re dead nuts on, trouble is they’re all gutless wonders and thank god cause they keep Kyle in business. it’s gonna be up to the fans to start hurting the Eagles purse strings before anything gets done.

  5. To be smug, you must be successful (ie. Jimmy Rollins). Smugness w/o winning = douchiness. Andy Reid is not smug, he’s just fat…and he’s a douche.

  6. Andy Reid is a pompous asshole, with nothing to be pompous or an asshole about. He has not won anything as far as I am concerned. His teams always choke in big games (unless they are coming off a bye, in which case they choke the following week). Lurie & Co. need to reach down and check to make sure they have a set and if so fire this prick immediately. If they don’t WIN a Super Bowl with all the signings they made then he does not deserve to keep his job (I personally don’t think he currently deserves this job but I hope that Lurie finally realizes that is the case at season’s end).
He is the worst game-day coach in the NFL. #timetotakeahike

  7. This guy has to go. He hasn’t won it yet and won’t ever. Sorry, but it’s true. I’m kinda praying they don’t make the superbowl just to see him leave so they can’t get a coach who can handle this team. I’m thinking a guy like Jon Gruden seeing how he wouldn’t butcher the defense up because he is a 4-3 guy as oppose to Cowher who is a 3-4 guy. Andy has done one thing this year that I do like, run the football. You can see he has alot more confidence in putting the ball in his RB’s hands. Juan Castillo is a joke, who plays Cover 3 defense on the 10 yard line when your opponent is in the red zone? Who only sends the dline after the QB on 3rd and long? If Jim Johnson had this defense they would be shut down. I truely believe a coach makes the team more than the players and it’s showing for the 2011 Eagles.
