Want to shake your ass? The Soul are holding open tryouts for their dance team. Here are the details: [Philadelphia Soul]

PHILADELPHIA (October 24, 2011) – The Philadelphia Soul will have an open call tryout for the 2012 Soulmate Dance Team to be held on Sunday, November 6 at the Wyndham Hotel, 1111 Rte 73 North, Mount Laurel, NJ (http://www.wyndham.com/hotels/PHLMT/main.wnt) starting at 9 a.m. 

Dancers that make the first cut will be required to attend a boot camp the following week.  Following the boot camp, there will be a round of semi-finals and one-on-one interviews.  The Finals will be held Wednesday, November 16 at Chickie’s and Pete’s in South Philadelphia.  A total of 20 dancers will make the squad for the 2012 season.

Fee for the tryout is $25, however, participants that pre-register at www.philadelphiasoul.comwill received a $5 discount.  Online pre-registration accepts credit cards and PayPal or dancers can pay cash at the door on the day of the event.

Like many other local athletes, Brent Celek will be hosting a celebrity server night on Monday, November 14. Details: 

(Philadelphia, PA) October 25, 2011–On Monday, November 14, 2011, Philadelphia Eagles Tight End, Brent Celek will host his 2nd Annual Celebrity Server Night at Morton’s The Steakhouse in Philadelphia. The event will feature Mr. Celek and 15-20 of his teammates serving up the delicious steaks that Morton’s is known for—with ticket proceeds benefitting sick children in the Philadelphia region through Brent Celek’s Take Flight Foundation.  The evening will begin with a special reception and silent auction at 7pm and continue with dinner and live auction at 8pm.

Tickets are $250.00 per person inclusive of tax and gratuity and include four courses of Morton’s The Steakhouse signature cuisine, fine wine and an exciting auction, as well as valet parking.

  2. Seriously. Way to go DJax and I agree, please pay him. Giving back to Philly, playing hard, mouth shut.. There’s a lot of young pro athletes that could learn from him and take some notes..

  3. Haha, sounded to me like Big Daddy called Kyle out for being a “merchandise snob”. I love DJax and his charitable donation to that family, but he needs to do something about that “beard” he’s working on. Not a good look, bro. Also, there’s not a better fielding CFer in the NL than Victorino. He often makes grabs that I think he has no chance at, and that’s with the shallow OF walls breathing down his neck.
