Watch as Cooter Gets All Nasty

Sean Couturier has come a long way. Three months ago, during his 10-game “trial” with the Flyers, it appeared as if he may not even be given the chance to play the whole season in the NHL.

Last night, he produced one of the highlights of the NHL skills competition.

Coming in from net-facing left, Cooter dropped the puck between his legs, dangled (briefly), passed back to himself, stopped the puck and then spun around like a greased up table hockey forward as he slapped the puck passed a mic’d up Carey Price.

I’d imagine that if Harry Doyle were a hockey fan, he’d compelled to name this move Tabletop. Or the Panty Dropper.

Yeah, maybe the latter.

Of course, Cooter’s sick move was quickly overshadowed by everyone’s favorite douchebag, Patrick Kane, who donned a Superman cape and, well, won the night. Watch his goal after the jump.

  1. I feel like Cooter’s goal was more impressive for 2 reasons. 1) He didn’t use his hands, and 2) It looked like the Blues Goalie just let him have that. I mean, when you see the guy dive, just stack the pads and DON’T MOVE!

  2. you don’t need to score for it to “count” the competition is just based on the move itself don’t need to finish it

  3. too bad kane stole that diving move off of a junior player that was done about a year or so ago. wish i could find the video for it

  4. This move by Cooter was pretty much the only part of the night I got to see while out at the bar. I think my panties dropped so hard they made a hole halfway to China.

  5. Yeah so maybe Lavs will give Cooter a try for the shootout, as well as Kimmo. His penalty shot in the SO compettition was pretty sweet too.

  6. I can’t believe that Kane’s move would be legal in a real SO. And I was kind of embarrassed for Couturier when Price had his back turned to him and STILL stopped the shot!
