A quick note about the lack of updates over the last few days: I was supposed to be in Clearwater, drinking. Instead I’ve been on the couch, heaving.

I’ll spare you the gory details – of which there are many – but early Friday morning, before a scheduled 6 a.m. flight to Tampa, I awoke to quite possibly the worst stomach sickness I’ve ever experienced. Like a cross between the kids from The Sandlot when they had tobacco at the carnival and Finch’s unfortunate bathroom incident in American Pie. Plus a fever.

The trip had to be cancelled. Southwest’s non-refundable tickets are, in fact, non-refundable (though they do give you a credit– you don’t just lose the money). The hotel only charged one unused night. And the Phillies tickets sold. Going this weekend instead, but, of course, everything costs about double when you book less than a week in advance. Fun times.

Still not 100%. Still a bit clammy and feverish. Still hitting it.

But first, a word from our sponsors:

– Dollar dog day at CBP? That’s nearly every day at Drinker’s Philadelphia establishments. Enjoy $1 hot dogs during all Philly sporting events. $2 PBRs and $3 SoCo and Limes all day, every day.

– Yesterday’s hero, Scott Hartnell, will be signing autographs at the BC Sports in the Moorestown Mall tonight from 6:30 – 8. Other signings coming up: Bernie and Bryz at the BC Sports in the Manoa Shopping Center on March 25 from 3 – 5. And Read at the BC Sports in the King of Prussia Mall on March 27 from 6:30 – 7:30. Details and tickets here.

– Philly Phaithful just launched their new line of baseball t-shirts. Get one here.
