Jayson Werth Had Surgery Today, Out Three Months

Jayson Werth underwent surgery on his broken left wrist today. He will be out more than six weeks, perhaps 12, according to Nats reporter William Ladson

If you remember, Werth broke his left wrist back in 2005. His recovery was so difficult at the time that he eventually started seeing a wizard. The injury was nearly career-threatening, and he was perhaps only saved by Pat Gillick, who signed him to the Phillies, where Werth grew out his hair, won a World Series, wore a fist and the rest is history and $126 million.

As someone who has had surgery on a broken wrist, I can tell you that the recovery time is much longer than even three months.

We wish JW a speedy return. For real.

Cue all deranged Nats fans, who will say that our Takeover group, seated over Werth's right shoulder, wished him harm.

  1. Oof, that is an ouch. I always liked Jayson. Dude produced a lot for us and i hope he recovers well. I will take the upside though of giving us a little slack in the division while he’s out.

  2. Terrible… ha ha… just terrible… haha!!
With that said, I would break both my wrists for $126 million.

  3. Werth is not a good person, plain and simple. I know too many people who have had bad experiences with him.

  4. I agree, Kyle…how the hell did he hear those specific comments in the midst of all that?!
And, Jayson, don’t lump all Phillies fans in with a couple knuckleheads who yelled at you, assuming of course they were Phillies fans.
