Here’s a stat for you to munch on: As noted by CBS Sports' Danny Kbnobler, prior to today’s game, the Phillies would have had to go 47-18 to finish with 90 wins. They went 46-19 over several 65 game stretches last season.

It can be done.

Now, the cold-water-boner splash: Even with today’s win, the Phillies are still 14 games back of the Nationals and 9.5 games back of the second Wild Card spot.

Watch video of today’s walk-off win, the Phillies' third straight come-from-behind 7-6 win against the Brewers.

  1. 9.5 games out with 10 weeks left to play. Make up 1 game per week and you’re in. Doesn’t seem toooo big of a hill to climb. Big? Yes. Everest? Nope.
Can’t lose any more series, though. Gotta win every one. Might have room for one, mayyyyyybe two. That’s it. And only if a couple of the wins are sweeps.

  2. The season will be defined by these next 6 games…3 @ Atlanta and 3 @ Washington. Let’s see where they are after those games. They play 52 of their last 63 games vs teams currently ahead of them in the standings. Time to giddy the f up.

  3. At least they’ve given me a reason to watch an entire game again. If they get back near .500 I’ll be excited for a wild card race.

  4. so all they have to do is go 1 win better than their best 65-game stretch last year when they had the “best record in baseball”
I’m confident – let’s get out of LAST PLACE and then worry about the playoffs

  5. The last few days have been fun to watch. My only fear is that RAJ will be given irrational hope about the season and won’t make good decisions when approached with trades. The fact that they didn’t want to consider getting something for Wiggington is a bit disheartening.
