Carlos Ruiz to DL, Out 4-6 Weeks

The worse keep getting, um, worser?

Carlos Ruiz is headed to the DL for 4-6 weeks with plantar fasciitis in his left foot. An MRI  revealed a partial tear. The Phillies will recall the big fucking tuna, Hector Luna.

During one of the Brewers comebacks (I believe), Chooch scored and winced as he crossed the plate, limping the rest of the way to the dugout. The injury, clearly, had been bothering him for a little while now.

Chooch will now likely not finish with enought at-bats to qualify for the batting title. Awesome.

I’m actually not sure he would’ve qualified anyway. 150 plate appearances in 50-something games for a catcher isn’t a given. Either way, the way that Melky Cabrera and Andrew McCutchen have been raking (assuming Votto ends up coming short of qualifying too), Chooch probably wouldn’t have won it regardless.

Chooch is faking it so he will finish the season batting 300 & thus get a bigger payday
