Some Flyers Weren’t Too Pleased with the Outcome of Yesterday’s Women’s Soccer Match

Not surprisingly, Canadians weren’t happy about the outcome of yesterday’s US-Canada women’s soccer semifinal. Two calls, made right before the Abby Wambach scored a game-tying goal in the 80th minute, were controversial.
The first one was against Canada’s goaltender for holding the ball too long (a rare call), which gave the US a free kick near the box. That play led to a handball call against Canada and a Wambach a penalty kick– she scored.
Both calls were questionable… but whatever. Alex Morgan won it for the US in the 122nd minute, just moments before the game was to go to penalty kicks.
Flyers, Canadians Scott Hartnell, Matt Read and Harry Canibuyavowel were unhappy and questioned the result:
Sorry guys, can’t side with you on this one.
