Chip Kelly Cock Teases NFL, Will Return to Oregon

Kyle Scott - January 7, 2013

Adam Schefter reports that Chip Kelly will return to Oregon after considering coming to Philly. This is the second straight year that Kelly has dipped his toes in the NFL pool, and the second straight year he has run back to Oregon and Phil Knight, Nike’s CEO and an Oregon booster.

The Eagles interviewed Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy in Denver on Sunday. He would appear to be in the lead. But at this point, who knows.

    He must be waiting until next year so that he can draft Johnny Football.

    I didn’t want to come to your trashy, classless city to begin with.

    Johnny Football is a freshman, meaning he will not be
    Eligible for the draft next year.

    no loss of sleep! it was the best thing that could have happened for the birds. chipo kelly was overrated and inexperienced. i think the most ideal option now is to land mccoy as HC and if possible, get lovie smith as defensive coordinator.

    He said he would listen, and he did. Any job in the NFL is a good one, but the Eagles and Browns jobs aren’t all that tempting right now. Returning back to a program he created isn’t anything to mock the guy for.

    @BEEZ you are 100% correct. get Gus Bradley for HC and bring in Weisenhunt as the OC.

    @Will
    They usually don’t shop out head coaching jobs for good NFL teams.

    @ Ualala – Who said anything about “good” teams? But just for fun, I’ll humor you: The Bears are a GOOD team.
    There are good situations and bad ones. Chip Kelly obviously thought that the Eagles couldn’t pay him enough to turn this ship around and deal with the owner, GM, media and fans. This is a bad situation, meaning, not favorable for a college coach.

    Kyle got it all wrong. Chip didn’t turn us down. I told Jeff that if he hired Chip, he wouldn’t see me or my twin sister anymore.
