A couple months ago we showed you a picture of Eric Wellwood’s bloody skate after Wellwood had an artery and his Achilles sliced by a skate. Today, he got his cast off and began rehab, and his leg looks predictably gross.

As Cleveland would say, “that’s just nasty!” I never have had to have a cast placed on me, but is that normal to lose that much muscle?
The hideousness of that foot will haunt my dreams forever.
And this is why hockey players are a different breed.

Look at that atrophy.
That amount of atrophy is indeed normal. Especially after 6 weeks of bed rest. Once he gets back to walking, it’ll come back fairly quickly.
