The Cubs Tried to Troll the Phillies Today, But the Joke is on Them

Screen Shot 2013-08-30 at 12.59.38 PM Screen Shot 2013-08-30 at 12.59.53 PMThis is the Cubs’ ticket today, and that’s Ivan DayGeezus, who was traded by the Cubs to the Phillies in 1982 for Larry Bowa and Ryne Sandberg.

DeJesus went on to play three seasons for the Phillies, hitting around .250 with a total of seven home runs, 139 RBIs and 37 stolen bases.

Sandberg went on to become a Hall of Famer.

But oh, wait, what’s that? Sandberg is our manager now and Bowa is going to be his assistant next year?* Looks like the joke’s on you, Chicagolandtownlandcitybatmanland:

That said, both teams stink, so it doesn’t even matter.

*I’m speculating.

    1. I agree, it was pretty witty. This Kylie tool is always angry and defensive. You know, the type of fan that puts the rest of us in a negative light. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was part of the Dirty 30 and Pukemon was his good friend.

  1. Yea, because everyone would take Ryne Sandberg the Manager over Ryne Sandberg the Player…

  2. What is this about Sandberg hiring Bowa next year…is this a real rumor? First time I’ve heard it even speculated…

    1. If it is true, it is great news. Bowa is an outstanding base couch. The Phillies could certainly use one.

  3. How many Cubs fan have seen their team win the World Series? I have seen the Phillies play in 5 of them in my lifetime winning two of them? Cubs fans my age have never seen them in the series. So…jokes on them.
